For the homeowner it helps eliminate the need to staple housing ads in ready rooms. When pilots and their families get to their new duty stations it may already be too late to take advantage of those housing offers stapled in the hallway. While there are other sites that offer similar options they are expensive and there are too many to effectively reach the pilots coming to your area.
